Who is this course for?

The aperture fundamentals course is designed for individuals who want to understand and master the concept of aperture in photography. Ideally the participants will have a good understanding of Camera Settings and how their camera functions. At the end of the lesson users will be able to understand different apertures and how it works, the impact aperture makes on an image and to change it. If you have not already we HIGHLY recommend you complete Camera Settings Class one before you complete this course.

Some of the topics covered are:

  • What is aperture
  • What is the AV Mode and using the AV mode
  • How aperture impacts images
  • Aperture and lenses

The course content is in depth and teaches a lot which also prepares you for Class 3 – Shutter Speed.

At the end of this course users will be able to use the aperture in much more detail and change the aperture where necessary with confidence.

This is a 3 hour practical in person location course. You will receive the relevant course content on the day to keep and revert back to if needed.

At the end of the practical session we will have a feedback session so you can share your images and ask any questions you may have. You will also receive an exclusive invite to our online community where you can continue receiving feedback as you grow.

You will be sent a Google Meet link a few days before the class. This will send after the welcome email.

If for some reason you do not receive the link please email us and we will make sure to re-send it.

"I enrolled in the Aperture Fundamentals online course, and it was a fantastic experience. The course was well-structured, with each lesson building on the last. The video tutorials were clear and informative, making complex concepts easy to understand. I appreciated the flexibility of the online format, which allowed me to learn at my own pace and revisit sections that I found challenging. The course also provided plenty of examples and practice exercises, which were essential in helping me grasp how to use aperture effectively. While I missed the hands-on guidance of an in-person course, the online community and instructor support were excellent. I now feel much more confident in using aperture to control the depth of field and achieve the effects I want in my photography."

"The Aperture Fundamentals online course exceeded my expectations. The lessons were well-organised, starting with the basics and gradually moving to more advanced topics. The video content was engaging, and the explanations were clear and easy to follow. I particularly liked the quizzes at the end of each module, which helped reinforce my understanding of the material. The ability to learn at my own pace was a huge advantage, as I could take my time with the more challenging sections. The online forum was also very helpful, providing a space to ask questions and share experiences with other students. This course has significantly improved my understanding of aperture, and I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned in my photography."

Chloe APERTURE FUNDAMENTALS

"The Aperture Fundamentals online course provided a thorough overview of how to use aperture to control depth of field and exposure. The course content was well-presented, with clear explanations and practical examples. I appreciated the flexibility to learn at my own pace, which allowed me to fully absorb the material. However, I did miss the hands-on element that you get with an in-person course. While the online forum was helpful, it wasn’t quite the same as having an instructor there to provide immediate feedback. Despite this, the course was very informative and has greatly improved my understanding of aperture. It’s a great option for anyone looking to learn more about this important aspect of photography."
